One thing I love about Madrid (and Spain in general) is the quantity of free exhibits you stumble upon just walking around the city.
For instance, yesterday, I visited the US Embassy to mail my ballot (Hooray for exercising my civic duty!!). On the way, I stumbled upon a free outdoor sculpture garden that I'd never before seen.
It has all sorts of metal and rock sculptures in cool geometrical shapes.
Like this interlocking squares one:
Or this one made of spheres and circles:
Or this awesome wavy fountain:
And the coolest part is, it's all underneath an overpass. Some of the sculptures even incorporate said infrastructure. The fountain above covers the slope where the overpass meets the ground, and the sculpture below is suspended from four of the columns that hold the bridge up.
