Videos of Los Reyes Católicos

When we arrived to Guadalupe after the hike, we were greeted by Isabel and Ferdinand, Los Reyes Católicos. We actually had to walk the last kilometer of the hike all together in one big group, because I guess that's how they used to do it in pilgrimages(??).

Or maybe they just wanted to make sure that everyone arrived together so we wouldn't miss the royal performance.

Regardless, the king and queen met us as we entered the city, and led us on horseback into the town plaza, where they stood in front of the monastery and talked about how important Guadalupe was in Spanish history, and to Isabel in particular. (And Ferdinand forgot most of his lines).

Afterwards, we got to shake their hands!

I took a short video of the occasion.

It's in in Spanish, and the presentation continued for about 5 minutes after this, but the gist is the history of Isabel and how she became queen, which you can find here.
