Museos

Spain has a lot of museums, both public and private, and one of my favorite things about Madrid is all of the amazing art museums (Prado, Reina SofĂa, Sorolla and so on). A fellow Fulbrighter, A, and I have bonded over all sorts of things (one of which is love for museums), and she introduced me to Spain's annual museum pass.

Since we're both over 25, we can no longer take advantage of the student discount (which is usually free, or at least, severely discounted) entry into most museums. Going to the Prado once with a regular admission is 16 euros. The annual museum pass costs only 36.06 euros, and gets you into all the national museums for free. $40-ish bucks to enter the Prado whenever I want? SOLD!

I plan on going back to the Prado multiple times this year with lots of friends (and by myself--Bosch and Rubens are calling to me), and I want to hit up the Museo Sorolla and the Reina Sofia a few times, too. So it just makes sense to me to pay a one-time fee and get into all of them for free.

And also, how ridiculously cheap is that one-time fee?!?!?!?!?

It gets me into ALL THOSE MUSEUMS!!! I now have a new goal for this year (I already have about 10, so, we'll see if I get to accomplish this one): Go to each museum listed on my annual pass.

Best $40 I've ever spent.
